Welcome 2012! (5 months ago! Oops!)

Well 2012 is off and running and it's already April, no I mean  June!  Well, I started writing this post in April.   I feel like I blinked and BAM! Summer is here.

So much has happened in the last five months.  The biggest news from us is that James got a new job!!!  It was a huge answer to prayer and on top of all the great perks (including AMAZING insurance)  he LOVES what he's doing.  He is working at the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center in Davenport IA as a Component Lab Technician.  The exciting thing is that this job opens up doors to many other avenues within this organization!  However, starting a new job means no time off, which is why we missed Polish Fest!  We were looking forward to seeing everyone and hope you all had a good time!!  I can't wait to see pictures!!  So someone post some soon!

I am still teaching Kindergarten and just completed my 10th year with our city district.  Wow!  Years go by so fast!!  I've been out of school for two weeks now and have been  cleaning, organizing, throwing stuff away, selling stuff, etc. You would think from the looks of everything that we would have lived her for 28 years, not 8.  How does one acquire so much junk?!!!!  But what I've enjoyed above all, is spending some good quality time with my little man!!!

So we've had a busy start to 2012. To start with, BJ turned 4! I can hardly believe my baby is already 4. He has come so far in the last 2 1/2 years since he's been home with us. Looking back, I'm amazed with his resiliency and ability to suck in and retain information at lightening fast speed. He hasn't "officially" caught up in all areas, but he's doing amazingly well! He's still pretty tiny with weight and height! But his activity level is high! He's interested in everything and especially loves school and TRAINS!!! His speech is still coming along as he favors shorter sentence lengths when he's excited and slur his words together! But his concepts and vocabulary are beyond his years. He told his daddy the other day "Daddy! You are being ridiculous!" It made me smile. He's always correcting us and my goodness, if your in an argument with him, don't expect to win, because he'll plead his case until you finally throw in the white flag! LOL!  He's really started talking up a storm these last few months and now it's hard to pick him out from other four year olds!! His yapper doesn't stop yapping!!

As I mentioned before, BJ STILL  LOVES TRAINS! In fact, the other night while we were praying, BJ said "Wait mommy! I'm God!" I said "Really? Okay God, tell me how you made everything!" He said, "Hmmm? Well, I made sun, stars, moon, sky and TRAINS!" How hysterical is that? Trains get put before people, animals, food and everything else in this world. :) We are planning another trip to the Railway Museum in Union IL.  This place is amazing and simply huge!!

So moving on, here are pics from BJ's 4th Birthday and Birthday dinner from, of course, Choo Choo Johnny's! We did want to give the train fetish a break so we got him to agree on his 2nd favorite, Pat Pat Rocket from Little Einsteins. He had his party at our Children's Museum in town called the Discovery Depot.  Yup!  It's all about trains, well most of it.  Anyway, when it came time to open gifts he grabbed a present and just sat there saying "Cheese, Cheese, Cheese!"  Then he looked at me and said, "Can i open my present now?"  Oh my!   He had all of us doubled over in laughter!!!  Can you tell  we take lots of pictures in our family?!!!  Then after each present he opened, he had to go around and tell everyone thank you and give them hugs.  We finally had to tell him to stop because we were running out of time!!!  Anyway, here are some pics from his party.
