BJ's First Gotcha Day/Trip To An Amusement Park

Happy 1st Gotcha Day BJ! Well, his official Gotcha Day is August 17, but with starting school and new job, etc. we just had to celebrate early. So we celebrated his Gotcha Day on the day we first met him, July 27, 2009!

I can't believe how much he has changed! It's also hard to believe that it's been a whole year! Time flies when your in love! LOL! So, his first Gotcha Day was a blast! We had a small party with some family and friends and then we went swimming! BJ received a Thomas (he is very obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine) blanket and pillow that I made for him, a Talking Thomas plush toy, and a train table that was so graciously given to us by one of my
friends (BJ's speech pathologist, Thank you Beetler's). He just adored all of it, especially the train table. If he's not sleeping or eating, he's playing with his trains! Who knows, maybe he'll be an engineer!

We have been very busy this summer and BJ has handled it all like a big boy! At the end of our 4th of July trip, we visited an amusement park called Midway Park in New York! The neat part about this park, is that it is designed specifically for children under 12. BJ loved it and showed us what a "dare devil" he really was. Mom and dad had lots of fun too!

That's all for now! I hope everyone is having a great summer! I'm a bit sad because I have a class starting next week and then I go back to school that following week! I'm going to miss my little guy a whole lot! Oh well, at least I had all summer!

  1. For some reason I can't view the slide show, but I can't wait to see it! Even though I am a late comer to your story, it's been so amazing to see it all unfold. What a gift the past year has been for your little family. :) Thanks for sharing Melanie. God bless BJ and happy "Gotcha Day"!

  3. Congratulations, Kochersperger family! What a huge milestone.

All those Thomas photos bring back a rush of memories for me. I still have a big tub of Thomas trains and such in our attic that I can't bring myself to part with. We definitely had a Thomas lover at our house too. :)

I love your family pictures from the amusement park - the ones on the slide are definitely my favorites. It is so easy to see how much fun everyone is having!

  6. What a fabulous Summer you have had. I am a teacher too and, I agree, it is going to be hard to see it pass. However, you have made some pretty priceless memories. You are right, time goes by so quickly when in love.
